Niki Karimi, famous Iranian actress who was in several of Dariush’s films and became a close friend of ours, bought this very small and damaged 2-room apartment in a very good neighborhood of Tehran and asked us to transform it into a beauty clinic. I regret not taking photographs before the renovation which I did with the same ostad memar who built the Maghsoudbak building and the Calligraphers’ Society projects: a very meticulous and slow master-mason. We used our typical suspended ceilings which follow the contours of the walls and the mirror strips in the reveals of the suspended ceiling for the first time here, before repeating it in many projects, to recollect the glamour of our traditional mirror works.
